About the Position
The Project Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day flow of work through the agency, coordinating all project phases, resource management, and approvals from project initiation through in-market delivery, you’ll ensure projects meet or exceed expectations and are delivered on-time.
The Project Manager will have a strong understanding of agency working processes and an empathy with cross-functional team members both intaking projects and executing work. In addition, this Project Manager will proactively partner with the Account Service team on a regular basis to holistically understand client project priorities and help outline forecasted client workload to aid in agency planning efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating and managing project schedules that outline project milestones from initiation to in-market delivery that are based on scope, timing, budget and resources.
- Provides leadership and comprehensive direction to cross-functional team members to ensure project success and that resources are being utilized
- Holistic project planning and management for both medium and complex scopes of work
- Encourage collaboration between teams
- Identifying any deliverables that might fall behind schedule and delegate responsibilities among team members to ensure timeline completion.
- Coordinating all workflow phases, schedule management, and approvals from project initiation through delivery in-market, you’ll ensure projects meet or exceed expectations and are delivered on-time.
- Scheduling, facilitating, and recapping project related team meetings (e.g. – project kick-offs, internal reviews, production inputs, and lessons learned).
- Be passionate about people and thrive well in high-stress and in a fast paced environment with high energy and passion for the work.
Desired Skills & Expertise:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or related field; or equivalent in experience
- 3-5 years’ experience in project management
- Expertise in Project Management Institute (PMI) principles
- Demonstrated ability to create and manage medium to complex marketing projects (campaigns, websites, social, video, broadcast, print)
- Positive attitude, flexible, works well under pressure
- Strong time management skills
- Proven ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with team members of various personality types
- Intense desire to excel in an entrepreneurial, collaborative environment
- Demonstrates initiative; is proactive
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent computer skills, with experience utilizing project management software
- Supremely self-confident and fun to work with
- Learns equally from successes and failures
- Possess a profound curiosity, and never afraid to ask “why?”
- Ability to influence project team members to identify and address project issues, including leadership and interdependent teams, and to promote self-directed teams.
- Must be extremely organized, multi-tasker, strong problem solving and negotiating skills and detail oriented combined with a passion for generating results.
Bonus Points For:
- Agency or in-house marketing team experience
- Experience in higher education enrollment, admissions or advancement
- Experience with Workamajig or other Agency ERP or PM softwares
- CAPM or PMP certification
